PAST EXHIBITION

HÁPTICA - Eleanna Anagnos | Valentina Attolini | Lissette Jiménez | Carmen Mora

JUNE - AUGUST 2025

Tentatively, that is, by touching and modifying through gentle brushes or energetic forms of contact, the four artists gathered in this exhibition give origin and direction to their works. Shredding fibers, molding a pulp or a mass, pressing to spread powdered pigments, smearing pictorial emulsions, embedding a photograph into a three-dimensional support, or finely corrugating to contain a space, are not merely plastic procedures. They are exercises in attunement between sentient bodies, environments, places, and transitional experiences.

The works shown here are preceded by mountain expeditions, journeys to previously unseen or changes of residence—whether habitual or circumstantial—conditions that foster a desire to capture and transfer a heightened awareness of the present. The works integrate a sensoriality that starts from the dermal and connects with the geological, as they simultaneously evoke the earth’s minerality, sediments, and tectonic formations. These haptic relationships infect us with a repertoire of sensations that subvert vision and textuality. These artists give us back another experience made by the body. Approaching their work refines our perception of our pores, folds, wrinkles, capillarity, and exudation.

Haptic showcases the work of four creators who, from different places, mediums, and inquiries, converge in their profound technical and sensory wisdom regarding materiality. This wisdom comes from intentional contact practices, overflowing only with a curiosity that mobilizes their unwavering desire for experimentation.
